Ash Tyler

Lieutenant Ash Tyler is the name of a character seen starting episode 5 of Star Trek: Discovery in which Captain Lorca rescued him from a Klingon prison ship.(1)

It was later revealed that this was not the real Ash Tyler, who had died during the battle at the binary stars.(2) The Klingons had taken Tyler's DNA to convert Voq to look like a Human. The experiment didn't work out as planned, since Tyler's personality had grown stronger than Voq's.(3) When Tyler/Voq started to suffer from these side effects, L'Rell reverted the effect by disconnecting Voq's personality.(4)
