From Pittsburghese To Klingon: A Public Art Walking Tour

Poster for the event
On 4 and 5 November 2016, Pittsburgh's Office of Public Art has offered the first Klingon Public Art Walking Tour. It was translated and spoken by Klingonist Andrew Shull-Miller.(1)

The tour lasted about 90 minutes and contained lots of new vocabulary, which was released at the qepHom Saarbrücken, happening on the same date.

During July of the same year, translators for Klingon, Elvish and Dothraki were seeked for on Facebook and Craigslist. (2)

The tour is sometimes also referred to as "Northside Klingon Walking Tour" or "Klingon Public Art Walking Tour".

New Vocabulary

Andrew Shull-Miller worked with Marc Okrand to be able to accurately interpret the Klingon Walking Tours. They have created new klingon words for this. New words include 'a'leghen'I' Allegheny (city name), vIqraq art, artwork, jInmol pa' studio, art space, and pItlhbergh Pittsburgh (city name). Due to this cooperation with Okrand, the words are considered as canon. (3)

The first written publication of the words was at qepHom Saarbrücken of the same year. The word list was missing the word 'arab Hol Arabic language.
