It's an Honorable Life is a fan-made theatre play premiering on December 6, 2019, in the Historic Mounds Theatre in St. Paul, Minnessota, the same place where
A Klingon Christmas Carol was played in
2016 and
2017). The show is presented primarily in Klingon with projected English subtitles. Presentations are planned for all weekends of December 2019.
The play returned in December 2021.
It was is written by Bill Stiteler, Tim Wick, Tim Uren, and Brian Watson-Jones, with music by Angela Fox. The Klingon translation has been done by
Chris Lipscombe.
The play is a parody of "It's a Wonderful Life" with some bits from other classic Christmas stories thrown in. This is the self-description on the website:
A Klingon fears he is too great a warrior to die in battle and will instead die of old age. Q leads him on a journey through his life in this mixture of Star Trek and holiday classics.
