jenbom (2014)
Klingon Pop Warrior is a project by
Jen Usellis-Mackay, who sings terran songs in Klingon. Her
Klingon name is
jenbom tai-toQqul .
History
Jen was not a
Star Trek fan until she got cast in
A Klingon Christmas Carol in
2010.
In
2013, Jen was brought in on a recommendation to sing
HIchop (
Kiss me) for the Improvised
Star Trek podcast and a music video for
YouTube was later made to go with it
. The music video went viral
and its popularity sparked the idea for the
2014 Klingon Pop Warrior music project. After a kickstarter campaign where 137 supporters contributed $2,756.00, she produced an entire album
. It was released 10 November
2014. The songs are available on Amazon
, iTunes, GooglePlay
and CDBaby
.

"bommey qu' (Fierce Songs)"
On October 25, 2016 a second project has been created on Kickstarter:
The Pop Warrior Returns with Fierce Warrior Songs! . One of the stretch-goals was a music video. Live recordings of
Somewhere over the rainbow and
Mother could be seen on the kickstarter page, as well as her Youtube-channel. The second EP
bommey qu' (Fierce Songs) was released in April
2017.
Somewhere over the Rainbow has an updated translation with a new word to the Klingon dictionary by
Marc Okrand,
Har'ey (rainbow).
"Great Deeds! Great Songs!"
On January 1, 2021, the third EP project was launched on Kickstarter and fully funded within 9.5 hours.
The project's stretch goals included adding the Klingon Pop Warrior songs to the music streaming service Spotify. The second EP
bommey qu' (Fierce Songs) was released on March 5,
2021.
