Known errors in paq'batlh

Just like any canon sources, mistakes, typos and errors cannot be avoided. This is a list of mistakes in the original released edition of the paq'batlh.

A footnote on p.70 says:

P'takh (petaQ) is a Klingon insult, meaning something like "weirdo", deriving from the verb "to be weird" (taQ), with and [sic] you (plural) imperative prefix (pe-).

At the 2011 qepHom in Saarbrücken, Marc Okrand said that he didn't recall seeing the footnote before and didn't think the pe- was the imperative prefix.

The verb QaD is used to mean "safe", which is a slang usage. This occurs once on p.99 in the expression rIQbe' ghaH 'ej QaD and four times as bIQaDbe' on p.159 and p.161. However, on p.97 QaD is used to refer to "dry land", so the usage on p.99, which describes Kahless climbing out of a river of blood, could be taken as a double-entendre (or even as the source of the slang). Furthermore, the introduction says that the text has been rendered into modern Klingon, so a slang usage is not necessarily out of place.

The inherently plural noun negh (the singular form of which is mang) is treated as grammatically plural on the following lines:

p.131: lojmItvo' molor neghvo' je / DoH chaH / qamchIy Hoch negh

p.143: 'uQ'a' luSop neghwI' 'e' vIchaw' / chaHvaD 'Iw HIq vInob / vaj tlhutlhlaH 'e' luSIQlaHbe'

According to Klingon For the Galactic Traveler, inherently plural nouns are grammatically treated as singular, so negh should use the pronoun ghaH (not chaH) and the null prefix (not lu-) when the object of the verb is singular.

The noun qorDu' is given inconsistent suffixes, sometimes being treated as a being capable of language and sometimes not.

p. 63: maHvaD lojmItmey tIpoSmoH / SoHvaD tuqlIj vInoblaH / batlh Hegh qorDu'lI' (-lI')

p. 87: ghe'torDaq lengbe'meH / qorDu'wI' vIQan / muyonmoH bortaS neH (-wI')

p. 145: qorDu'wIj quvmo' jImaghpu' / qorDu'wIj quvqa'moHlu'meH / jIvang vIneH (-wIj twice)

p. 183: reH tlhIngan tlhIH 'e' yIqaw / pewuv'egh / qotar vImuv qorDu'wIj vImuv (-wIj)

The following line appears to be a mistake as qeylIS qorDu' je is plural, and thus the expected verb prefix is lu-:

p. 123: Dung qo' pawDI' / qeylIS qorDu' je ta''e' neH / bop bommey

In fact, not only should the verb be lupawDI', but the subject of the verb is actually qotar qempa'QeH je from the previous line.
