Religious Text Translation Project
The
RTTP is a
project of the KLI that started in
2015, as an expansion of the "Bible translation project", whose focus was only on one book. This new project is expanded to include all kind of religious texts. The RTTP is coordinated by
Melanie Roney.
The Project started as "Klingon Bible Translation Project" in
1994, co-ordinated by
Kevin Wilson (until
2003) the KBTP has assumed the immense task of translating the books of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, into Klingon. Obviously the
KLI's goals do not include missionary work, but this is a project worthy of our efforts for purely secular reasons. The past interested members could join the project by sending an envelope to the coordinator. However, current members interested in working on the new RTTP should contact the current coordinator.
Progress
The first complete book translated was actually Jonah, by
Mark Shoulson (
Seqram) who had it completed in
1994.
Some other chapters of the Bible have also been translated here and there, along with some Psalms. Other translated works include the Tao Te Ching, some parts of the Book of Mormon, and some Christian hymns.
If you would like to help further the progress, please contact the coordinator, or at least edit this page to update your progress.
If you're not up to translating, editing and proofreading the below translations is always appreciated.

Mock translation
There is a mock "translation" available at various different places on the web which is simply an automated word swap, done by "Mr. Klingon"
Joel Anderson. The author makes clear that this is
not a real translation but a simple software word mapping
. One can even buy this version as a kindle version
. It should be avoided by all students of Klingon.
An example quickly reveals the nonsense of the translation.
