Story
The Klingon Ambassador to the Federation, played by John Schuck, demands the extradition of Kirk for murdering
Kruge's crew and stealing his Bird-of-Prey
. Arguing that Kirk is facing numerous domestic charges, the Federation President denies the extradition request. Meanwhile, an alien probe is threatening to destroy Earth, and Kirk and crew, in the Bird-of-Prey, travel 300 years into the past to retrieve two humpback whales, which have become extinct in the 23rd century. The whales are able to communicate with the probe and save Earth.
Klingon
Although
Klingon is not spoken in the film, Scotty tells Kirk that damage control on the Klingon ship is easy, but reading the language is hard.
