Appearances of Klingon: on television - in movies - in the news - in commercials - in politics - in literature - Translations Welsh Government answers in Klingon
Welsh ministers were asked for information about UFO sightings and they replied in Klingon
. One of the questions was
"What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the funding of research into sightings of unidentified flying objects in Wales?" The answer to this was:
jang vIDa je due luq. 'ach ghotvam'e' QI'yaH-devolved qaS. The supposed or intended meaning was
The minister will reply in due course. However this is a non-devolved matter.
Analysis
The literal translation of the Klingon phrase is:
"he, she or it answers - I act in the manner of [something] also - (due) Sure!, but as for this person, *swearword*-(devolved) it is happening."
Unfortunately, this is again an example of a too quick use of an automatic translator. A simple test can confirm the use of a
Bing based software. The first obvious evidence for this are the inserted untranslated words ("due", "devolved"), and next, experienced speakers will find absolutely incorrect words - especially the very bad
curse QI'yaH.
