More Information

In English, one can use the word "different" in the sense of meaning "not this one, but the other", as in "My daughter goes to Central Highschool, but my son goes to a different school." That is not what the word pIm be different means. One should use latlh "additional one, other one" in this case.

reH latlh qabDaq qul tuj law', Hoch tuj puS.
The fire is always hotter on someone else's face.
(replacement proverb from PK)

This clearly means that one is talking about a second face. One could say "a different face" in English, but it does not mean that this face is "different".

may' bom pIm bom
sing a different battle song

This idiomatic expression from KGT means "speak of another matter entirely", but it does not mean per se that it is a second matter, an additional one - it means that the matter being talked about is "different" in the sense of not identical. First the person said "blue", then he said "red": That is being different.

pImlaw' romuluSngan be' porgh
I've heard Romulan women are different.
(General Korrd, Star Trek 5 Notes)

Here, it is very clear that the speaker his referring to the difference of the body (as compared to Klingons, probably). Romulan women certainly don't have "an additional body", they do have a "different body".
