More Information

The idea of training lazily is a very un-Klingon notion, but there's a slang expression that's heard occasionally based on the verb tab "wane, ebb, dwindle." This is a word that can be used when talking about phases of a moon, for example, but it's not used to refer to living things (people, animals, plants) except idiomatically: To say to someone bItab, literally "you wane," is to say "you are not applying yourself fully to the task at hand." (It would be extremely unlikely to hear a Klingon say jItab "I wane" or matab "we wane.")

The opposite of "wane," that is, "wax," is usually just tabHa'. It's not unheard of to say bItabHa' to a lazy worker or trainee who's finally up to speed, but it's not common. bItabHa' would never be addressed to someone who's been training or practicing or working diligently all along.
